Cabinet

The second floor lobby features a large cabinet filled with an eclectic assortment of instruments, tools, and materials, many of which came from the Upjohn Pharmacy collection at Disneyland. Some important pieces in this display include Jesse Hurlbut's balance, a matched set of two hand-painted ceramic vessels, several countertop candy jars, and a pair of hand-etched show globes.

Counter

Further down the hall, near the north exit, you will see a preparation counter, which comes from the Hoffman Pharmacy in Chicago. Note the custom stained-glass window. This case contains more porcelain and glass apothecary ware. Apothecary jars with narrow necks would have been used for precision when dispensing liquids, while wide-mouthed jars would have been used for solid materials. As you can see, some of the glassware still contains its listed contents.
